What a summer it has been in France! I’ve had my fair share of adventures and experiences. From exploring the world of quantum computing with the Womanium Foundation to embarking on a job hunt in the private sector, and of course, savoring quality time with my loved ones, it’s been quite the journey.

I’ve been contemplating whether to delve into my exciting adventures exploring various destinations, provide further insights into the program I’ve been involved in, and share my upcoming projects in the field of quantum computing (I’m thrilled to announce that <Quantum|Chamitas> is launching a new presential edition in Venezuela!). Alternatively, I could recount my misadventures in the search for a CDI or discuss the unjust nature of France’s migration law with the PACS. With so many options, I find myself unsure of where to begin or end. Therefore, I’ve decided to offer a recap on most of my summer experience! 😆
First off, let’s talk about the delectable cookies from the Biscuiterie de Chambord. Chambord, for those who aren’t familiar, is home to one of the most impressive castles you can visit in France. And let me tell you, these cookies are a real treat, baked right next to the castle itself. They’re nothing short of amazing.

Then came the Fête de la Musique in my quaint little town of Beaugency. Surrounded by nature, every walk around here feels like a breath of fresh air, truly soothing for the soul.

But let’s not forget the job hunt saga. In my pursuit of a CDI (Contrat à durée indéterminée) in the private sector, I had my fair share of ups and downs. One of the low points had to be a 3-hour trek to one of Paris’s distant suburbs. Why, you ask? They [very] insisted on an in-person interview. Long story short, after all that effort and a considerable train fare, they informed me in just 15 minutes that I couldn’t be hired due to my nationality… even though I had clearly stated my non-French nationality in my CV and over the phone during interview arrangements. It’s moments like these when you realize that some people have zero regard for others’ time.

Following that rollercoaster, it was time to dive headfirst into my immersive summer with Womanium. I won’t delve into all the details, but let me assure you it was a rewarding and eye-opening experience.

But summer isn’t complete without a well-deserved vacation. Lyon was on the list, a city boasting one of the most impressive cinema museums I’ve ever visited, not to mention fantastic bookshops and charming bars.

And last but certainly not least, there was La Rochelle, where my dodo and I decided to take the plunge and sign a PACS. To celebrate, we hit the beach, and, it was everything we hoped for – the quintessential summer experience, brimming with tourists and good vibes.
La Rochelle was undoubtedly one of the highlights of my summer. It offered a plethora of captivating stories surrounding its historic towers, breathtaking beaches (and let me tell you, coming from the Caribbean Sea, I can be quite selective when it comes to beaches!), and an awe-inspiring private aquarium.

France is so much more than just Paris 😍. I’ve always believed that, but I suppose I never really had the opportunity to showcase it. That’s why I’m taking a moment now to shed some light on this fact. Being in the right environment, surrounded by loved ones, family, and friends, truly enhances every experience. It has also played a pivotal role in maximizing the benefits I’ve gained from my summer programs. Mind, body, and spirit aligned on the same wavelength.
Of course, life has its challenges, and bureaucracy seems to follow us wherever we go ⛔. The last week was a bit of a whirlwind, dealing with prefectures and consulting migration rights experts. However, we remain optimistic that we can navigate through the bureaucratic maze back in Venezuela.
So, that’s a glimpse into my summer 😜. Whether it’s the taste of those Chambord cookies, the melodies of the Fête de la Musique, the job hunt rollercoaster, the enriching experience with Womanium, or the love in La Rochelle ❤️, it’s been a season to remember.
P.S. Some food to remember!
